battery not staying up
#2
Don't know if this helps, but... I replaced my battery on my 05' 700 efi and withing two days it was dead. I brought the battery back to the dealer and they tested it and said it was a bad battery. They replaced it at no charge and I haven't had a problem since (6 mths). I also installed a "battery tender". Awesome product - cost around $30. It has a quick connect to the battery and can be plugged in whenever you like. I only plug mine in if I'm going riding the next day or in the extreme cold of the winter. It's suppose to extend your battery life 2-3 fold. Good Luck, If it's something more serious I'm sure that the pro's will be on shortly to help.

thanks for replying to the message. the only thing is it keep a charge after i charged it up. it didn't run down until i started riding it. i called the dealer here and they said there is a "ECM POWER BOX" below the handle bars that might be going out. has any body had this power box go out or had problems if it?

The 800 was just about the only thing made that year that wasn't recalled for a bad ECM but that still doesn't mean it's not the problem. I just don't know how it could have anything to do with it not charging.

i think if you check up under the front grill area you'll see the voltage regulator. make sure it isnt unplugged or isnt all corroded and need to have the connections cleaned. if all is good then i would guess it is bad which controls the amount of voltage. imo.
