Forman TRX 500FE excessive tire ware
Hi guys
I have excessive tire ware on the inside of each front tire and wore out my original set in 2 seasons.
Just after installing my new Mudlite AT's with 3/4 ***** at a cost of $350,00 I had a wheel alignment done to spec by a local Honda dealer and that cost me $85.00
This past week I went on a trip to ATV heaven in Amqui in Gaspe Quebec and after 4 days and 937 kms / 586 miles both front tires have lost 75% of the thread on the inside *****, the other guys that I ride with have the same tires both 2 seasons old and with double the mileage one rides a 400 Suzuki Bayou and the other a 400 Yamaha Kodiak They both have approximately 30%-40% wear.
Bought this ATV new in 2005 and was wondering if any other owners have the same problems. I called Honda Canada several times their claim is that that there are no complaints or service bulletins on this subject and can't seem to solve this problem. All the help I got from their technicians is it is due to the way I ride al whole lot of BS if you ask me.
Seems the only thing I can do is to sell this ATV and get another make,ither that or keep replacing tires every year. Boy in my book Honda is sure not the Company it used to be several years ago.

Have you ever had an accident involving the front suspension?
I'd take it to another dealer and have them inspect all the parts of the front end and re-align it. Sounds like something is bent because your tires should not wear like that at all.

I've brought to 2 places
1-my original dealer just after noticing the problem in season 2 all hi did was tell me that it looks a little off and I should adjust it. Good service eh!
2- The second had it for 4 days and went over everything and I have a report from them that all is to Honda specs. Front Wheel alignment is toe out 2 Deg.
I asked Honda Canada if they would know of a preferred place to have it checked and they told me any dealer should do.
I have had no accidents and have used this ATV on dirt roads and trails only. I avoid black top as much as anyone can
