Default 05 sportsman 400 won't start with key

does anyone know what to do. my sportsman will not crank with the key. everything turns on and i can pull start it, but when i turn the key it just makes a single clicking sound each time i turn it over. i might could fix it if i knew what it was. the troubleshooting guide said to flip the circuit breaker, but i can't find it or a fuse.

w/ the key turned on try jumping the 2 big cables on the solnoide to see if the engine turns over. if so then the solnoide is bad. first thing to do is check battery voltage to see how many volts the battery puts out and check the connections to make sure thier tight and corrsion free. just a couple of idears.

Get a voltage meter. I got a cheap multi-meter from Radio Shack YEARS ago and love it. You should have AT LEAST 12v at the battery when not running and 13.5-14v when the engine is running.
