Default Towing Capacity of Rincons

What is the towing capacity of Rincons? Can it pull things with ease even when it is over the weight limit? Thanks

Well you will probably never find a rated towing capacity for the rincon because honda will not put a hitch on them, they say, or at least i've been told, that with the independent rear it makes them dangerous by hookin somethin heavy to them. I'd say with a homemade hitch the thing ought to pull down a house they have loads of torque!

I was looking online and they do sell them. Why would it be dangerous? Is the fisrt gear low enough to pull things?

well when you hook a loaded trailer to an independent rear machine all the weight is carried by the suspension thus making the suspension roll from side to side bounce up and down etc. Unlike a solid axle machine where the weight is carried on the axle not the suspentions. I'm just letting you know what was told to my gf's brother when he bought his. I just purchased a new rancher and i asked y my little rancher came with a hitch and that big mule of his didn't and this is what was told to me

I thought I saw towing capacity listed somewhere, but now I don't see it.

It will tow within reason, but it is pretty tall geared, and as noted above independent rear suspension will tend to sag under a trailer's hitch weight.

KFI, atv guru, and others build hitches for them.

If towing is your main goal, though, I'd suggest the Foreman or Rubicon.

i went on www.atvrideronline.com and it said that the towing capacity was na/850lbs.which i take that as 850lbs. which isn't really alot casue my sportsman 400 can pull 1225lbs. i hope this is right with 850lbs but from what i heard it should be right.

Maybe the rating was hitch weight/towing weight...

I seem to remember seeing 850 or 1000 pounds listed somewhere...

Anyway, owning one, I think the Rincon was aimed at fast trail riding, but can do some hauling, towing and work.

Thats what I need it for. Mostly trail riding but some work. I think the rated towing capacity is the same for the rincon and rubicon.

I would think the Rubicon would tow a lot more, with it's solid rear axle and low range, but that's just a guess...

Don't except much in towing from a 3 speed tranny Rincon video review.

Bottom line they call the tranny "Silly"
