Default Choke Cable on Rancher

I have a question concerning my uncles 03 Rancher...

For some reason, we can not pull out the choke cable..... it is stuck and won't pull out..

What should I check for or how do you suggest loosening it?

Thanks

I would remove the seat and fuel tank then try to remove the chocke from the carb to see if its stuck there .(its at the other end of the cable)..if not then its prob the cable replace it or try to use a solvent like pb blaster to free the cable ...

Water get into the cable between the cable and housing and rusts it. Lube it, or better yet just replace the whole thing.

Carefully unscrew the cable from the carb. Remember that the cable and the end piece are 2 separate things. Free out the part going into carb - clean it very lightly with fine sandpaper- lube everything. if your cable will freely pull up the end enrichment screw, and the screw looks good, simply re-assemble (getting the thread back on can be tricky -don't force the thread).
But if is still stuck - replace the cable. should do it.
