Just curious if these symptoms are a dead give away as to why I did ZERO miles Sunday [img]i/expressions/brokenheart.gif[/img]

A friend of mines boss lets him use his sportsman whenever he wants to.
So I load up my grizz and drive over to his bosses place to find out that the popo won't start.

This is the FI model and all you can hear is the starter buzzing, engine never even tries to turn over. I'm not that mechanically inclined w/ ATV's but know some stuff to look for. I could not even find a fuse box of any sort, the 'owners manual' said to check for solenoids..didn't see any, maybe they are under the pod?

Anyways, we try pull starting it, the rope just pulls out freely, no compression..
We try jumping the quad...still just the starter whining.

I open up the airbox to take a peak, there is oil filling the bottom crevasse of the air box. I also found some oil in the garage next to the quad...never checked the oil, but could it have gotten overfilled and extra oil spilt out into the airbox and perhaps fouled a plug in the process?

We didn't have any spare spark plugs, so we ended up just draining the air box of the oil and went home.

Pull the recoil cover off and see if the key in the flywheel sheared off.Check the oil level in the motor and see if it's overfilled.

The lights all came on... If he doesn't figure it out by the time I go again w/ him, I will check those (flywheel &oil level)

I'll give him these starting points

the solnoide is under the seat near the battery. sounds like the dogs on the pull cord isnt engaging when you pull the rope if it pulls out freely. but if it isnt his bike he might want his boss mess w/ it unless he doesnt care someone is wrenching on his bike. imo.
