Default Scrambler Head Gasket Install

I'm going to install a new (OEM) head gasket on a 1996 Scrambler 400. Should any additional sealant be used on the gasket or anything else be used on the threads at all? Thank you

you shouldnt need any additional sealant. its probably advisable not to use any because it could block water passages if some gets squeezed out

i have a 500,gasket goes on dry with a premium gasket, bolts are only oiled,if your 400 bolts enter a cyl jacket you can put teflon paste or a high quality rtv sealer. torque amount+sequence is extremely important.....
