How do you get at and remove the electric starter owner manuel is useless to me the starter just clicks the quad has been sitting for 2 years starts right up by pull start but i want the electric to work also the reverse has stopped working it engages but it acts like its in neutral i only paid 600 for it so i expected a few problems thanks for any help.

to remove the starter you need to pull the recoil housing off that will reveal 2 bolts in the bottom left hand cornor. remove those. then there is a support bracket on the rear of the starter. two bolts here. you need to have patience for these two because you can only get about 1/4 turn each time. for me is easier to remove the seat and airbox to get at those bolts but for some reason they never make it back in [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img].
on the reverse i would check the gear oil in the gear box to see if theres any metal shavings/chuncks. if not then an adjustment may be nessecary with the linkage rod. remove the rod from the bell housing on the gear box and see if when you change gears there is it will go into reverse.
theres not much in those gear boxes to go wrong.
