2005 polaris sportsman 400's
#1
Im new to the forum and i just went out and bought 2 2005 sportsman 400's
One the wrench light lights up when you first turn the key on flashes a couple times then turns off.. any opinions of what that might be?
Then the other it overheats easy, could it just be the coolant low?
i've never had a polaris, always had yamaha... so i dont know too much about them

WAIT!
always check fuses under the front cover before you do anything! Sometimes it is just a fuse and then you take it to the dealer, they charge you a tone of money, and then some will even find "something else" wrong with it that they can charge you for that you didn't really need! Then if the fuses happen to blow again when you start it up, then that means that you have some kind of short to ground somewhere.
Some atvs have that service icon come on and then you have to "service" your atv and reset it. You can change the service from say 50hrs to 100 hrs too if someone wanted to. Look in your manual and it tells you about that stuff!

the wrench icon is for service, not for it overheating. check on how many hrs it has and most likely hasn't reset from the service or never was serviced. if you didnt get an owners manual w/ the bikes i would suggest getting one as all that info is right in there of what to use and when and how to reset the hr meter. you can down load an "owners manual" off the polaris web page once you have registered.
