I have an 04' 700 with a carb, and I love it. Friends have hondas, they are not as comfortable to ride, long rides, or just putin' around. The awd on polaris is great , but you know that. It is very good in the deep mud that clings to your wheels and frame, pulls like a dozer, and is fantastic in the snow. The 700 cant be all that different than the 800, however I've rode a 600 and it was almost identicle to my 700. A little less noticable power, but even the 600 had more to offer than the rincon. The twin is a little less 'cold blooded' in the winter than a single, or mine is?

My experience with a 2005 Polaris Sportsman was somewhat mixed and I sold it to buy a Grizzly. I really liked the engine, easy to start, very smooth running and powerful. The ride was very good, but the seat felt too wide for me compared to others, otherwise the layout and ergonomics were very good to excellent. It was a little difficult to shift, but no more so than my Grizzly. While the transmission was very smooth, there was a lot of drive line lash when you first put it into gear or switched from forward to reverse. I don't think this would ever be a dependability issue I just did not like the noise. I also did not like the brake lever on the left handlebar which controlled both front and rear braking. I ride in fairly steep hills and the lack of engine braking to the front wheels caused the back tires to skip around quite a bit and made controlled descents somewhat difficult. I found the AWD system worked flawlessly and it could be engaged/disengaged "on the fly" at pretty much any speed. I never got stuck and never noticed any wheel slip prior to engagement. I bought the bike with under ten hours on it and used it for over a year and none of my complaints were related to quality or reliability. I sold it to my son in law who loves it and uses it like a tank. You would probably have to take it away from him at gunpoint and maybe not even then. It did not fit me, but it may very well be just what you are looking for.

Well, I sold my 2003 sp500ho yesterday for $3500.00. I went tonight and checked out the 2006 sp700 efi. It looks, runs, and drives like a new one. It has ALOT more power than my 500H.O. did. It has 980 miles on it, front and rear bumpers, and the factory aluminum wheels. It's red just like my truck. I can get it for $4000.00. I looked the value up on n.a.d.a. and it's $4100 to @5300. Can anyone tell me how much have these rigs been selling for?

It depends on where you live... Tough economy, may find a great deal. I have a 2005' 700 EFI, love it! I would rather have this than the new 800 (at the time) and the $ sounds right. You sold yours for ? And can upgrade to a 700 EFI for little difference......DO IT!
I have about 900 miles on mine and have only had to do minor maintenance and replaced a Inner CV boot - runs great.... Good Luck!
