Need someone to take pictures of ds650 front fenders
#1
I'm looking to install fenders like what comes factory on the DS650 onto my other quads.
I'd also like to ask, if the fenders work well on the ds-650. I know on the other quads that I have, the fenders look like little bat wings that protrude from the front plastics and they don't do a single thing to help keep mud off the rider.
Seeing how the ds-650 fenders actually cup directly over the wheel, I would assume that they would work pretty well.
Now, I don't own a ds650 and unfortunately don't know anyone else that ownes one either.
So I'm kindly asking for someone to take a few good clear pictures of the fenders, & how they mount to the a-arms / knuckles.
Also, if you know of anyone who has extra fenders & maybe the brackets from a ds-650, let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Your best bet is to check Ebay for a set. Most of us here have removed ours and threw em away or sold em. I think they will work, just need to do some a-arm mods to make em mount.

give me your e-mail address and I will send you some pics, but make sure you mount them to the spindle/knuckle, not the a-arm. and yes they do alot better than most other sport quads as far as keeping the crap off you. I was always going to do this on my old 400ex, but never had the time. Anyways, good luck.

I figured that the fenders mounted to the knuckles so that when the a-arm moves up and down, the fender always moves in proportion to the wheel.
I did some more reading on here, and it seems like a lot of guys talk about taking the fenders off. Why is everyone removing them. Is there a down side to the fenders that I don't know about?

They are functional but you will have to fab up something off of the spindle NOT the a-arms. The DS650 Spindles have placement for these that bolt right up. Surprised they did not do the same with the DS450.

All of us that ride in the sand remove them for weight reduction and the fact that they're just not needed in sand. As far as mud goes they are the ONLY way to go. Actually serve a useful purpose that other manufacturers can't claim.
There is no problem with then at all, it's just that the DS without front and rear fenders looks like some fast *** shark.

KaylasDaddy - Thanks for the offer, I just sent you a PM.
Also, thanks to everyone for the info. I'd like to find a set of bracket, so that I wouldn't have as much fab'ing to do.
Also, back to the original post, can someone snap a few pictures and post them on here. I'm sure other people will refer to this thread in the future. So it will do more than just helping one person.
Thanks.
