do you mean a power relay between the battery and winch? or the switch on a cord you can use while standing back from your atv?

If it is a fairly new warn (3 years old or so) they are water poof and I would reccomend placing it out in the open as it needs the outside air to help keep it cool under use!

I put my Warn winch on about a week or so ago and I put the relay in the compartment by the battery....although I have a 420 Rancher. I removed the plastic cover and mounted it directly to the metal bar that's inside the compartment.

i mounted mine to the roof of my rear tool box inside it, the winch does not get used much except in the winter and i don't think it will over heat when it is below freezing. I wanted to keep it enclosed. I bolted it right to the panel that the manual is supposed to go in.

You didn't give much in the way of specifics, so I guessed. Here are the 2008 Honda Rincon Warn 2500 install instructions.

It is a pdf format, just copy and past into your browser.

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://warn.iwebcat.com/imgVD/WAR/75000-74374A0_rs.pdf
">http://warn.iwebcat.com/imgVD/...-74374A0_rs.pdf
</a>

On page 3, it looks like they recommend mounting it in a similar spot to where I mounted the contacter box on my Rubicon. That is under the rear fender, mounted to the rear storage unit.

If I guessed wrong on the specifics, go here for more precise instructions...

On the Rincon, on the back of the airbox is a popular place to mount the contactor.
