I have a 99 Kodiak with 4-5k miles on it. I have never had an electrical problem with it. It has a factory Warn winch with the switch that rotates to run the cable in and out and I cycle it thousands of times each winter clearing snow with a blade. The switch wasn't working last week so I dis-assembled it and cleaned some arcing off of the contacts. When I re-installed the switch and activated it, there was still a problem with the contacts. I turned it back and forth several times to see if it worked at all and heard something click on ATV somewhere. (I think) Now I have no spark, but good turnover. The battery is new last summer. No fuses blown. Plug is clean. Any one have any thoughts about what I fried?

 

mabe if you fired the rectifier/regulator that could cause the CDI not to fire at the spark plug. just a guess though
