Default Replacement Stator 500 Sportsman

The Stator in my 500 sportsman is shot. I found RM Stator on Ebay about 1/3 the cost of OEM. Here is their web site http://www.rmstator.com/en/index.php , although the ebay pricing is better.

My question is has any one purchased anythign from this company? If so have you been satisified? I'm trying to save a few bucks, but if I have to replace it with OEM at a later date it ends up coting me more.

Thanks

You take a chance with all after market electrics. But I have found that most are decent but dont last as long as OEM

I would first make 100% sure your stator is bad and not maybe just a trigger coil. I found mine to be just a broken wire not making consistent connection. see my thread

otherwise if you can find an oem replacement on ebay for a decent price I would buy that. If no good deals on ebay then use rm stator. I purchased an oem stator new off ebay just as a spare pretty cheap.

I have the Stator out. The problem I have is on the red and red/black wire going to the stator I should be reading 44O Ohms. I have an open. Does this mean that the trigger coil is out of it? I did notice one of the windings on the stator near the bottom appears burnt. I thougt these were for the charging circuit? Can the trigger coil be replaced on the stator assembly?

Thansk

Your stator is shot then. The pulser/trigger is the black box that is on the outside of the flywheel.

that is what i did. they do have a pretty fast turn around also. if it is for a stator repair you will have to ship them the one from your quad.
