I have had trouble with my 4X4 running smooth. Changed the o ring on the jet valve in the float compartment of carburetor. Ran it for a minute and it really got rough. Looked in air filter box and gas was coming in from vent hose to the oil box. What causes that, and how do I fix it?

 

You might think this is crazy but I had the same problem, changed the air filters and it went away.

 

Thanks for your advice. I actually had the bike running with the air box open and watched the gas flow into the box. Ordered new filter anyway and a manual on the machine. I am going to try and reset the float level, drain all of the oil and gas and start over.

 

Thats the best way to do you can't leave it that way. . .If the fuel is getting into the oil your going to want to flush out the system. . .

I had this problem a couple months ago. The floats in the carb were stuck so that it was constantly pulling in gas which overflowed out the vent tube into the air box.

 

replace needle+seat assem.Ebay,also make sure float dont have gas in it....

 

Replaced needle and seat, drained all fluids, adjusted floats and new air filter, runs like a charm now. Thanks for all of the info.
