700 H1 EFI - how is it holding up?
#1
My local cat dealer offered me an extremely nice price on a 700 TRV Cruiser.
Just curious to hear from any owners of this engine as to how it has done. Even heavily discounted, it's still a stack of money to spend, especially right now.
Also - any thoughts as to what my 02 500i is worth? 1300 miles, farm use only, never been in mud.

hey johnO, the 700 is a great bike. I purchased one in september, an 08 camo for 6890.00 as well as 2 other friends of mine. so far its been great. I live near St louis and its about 500-600ft. above sea level here and after i racked up 100 miles i headed out west to do some antalope hunting with a friend of mine that lives out there. The fisrt thing i did was put 28" sawmplites on it due to the snow out there and they were currently on my 02 500 cat. after killin an antalope we took off up the mountain and with 14" of snow and going from 500 ft (st louis) to starting of at 4,000 ft(base of the mountain) up to 9,000. I couldn't tell any loss of power. In fact my 700 did a little better than his 800. He had to keep backing up and getting a run at it and he had 27" swamplites. I never got held back in fact i passed him. lol. Any how i'm VERY pleased with the 700 and the fuel injection. I do have a clutch kit to put on when it gets warmer so i don't end up ruining my belt and helping out with turning the 28s a little easier. I m not sure what your 500 would be worth. My 500 has 3700 miles on it and has been in mud all its life so i figured it wouldn't be worth much so i kept it. Good luck!

$4000+ if you lived in Canada. I Sold this beat up 89 350 4x4 Big Bear with a zillion hard miles with only back brakes for $1800 easily.
