I installed the dynojet kit along with the 2001 carb spring and 2001 longer main jet splash guard. I am running a K&N filter directly off of the carb. I am having some bogging problems under hard acceleration and when shifting into the next gear. Could it be that eliminating the airbox robs some lowend power/throttle response? Could it be that the airflow to the filter directly off of the carb is more resticted than the filter in the airbox due to the filters smaller size, the seat being in contact with the filter, and the frame and wiring around the filter?

I noticed a significant increases in low end torque as soon as I added the clamp on K&N and rejetted. Prior to the intake mod I couldn't wheelie w/o a little help from the clutch, now I can pick the front end up on demand over whoops and off dropoffs. I think the stock air box and snorkel were quite restrictive.
My original complaint w/ the DS was bogging over bumpy terrain, is this when you are seeing it? or are you experiancing bogging on flat ground at gear changes as well?
My fix was easy , float bowl was not adjusted properly and the fuel supply was inconsistent. Were you having problems before you put the extension splash guard around the main jet?
Also I saw a significant improvement in throttle response w/ the new needle. It revs flawlessly and very responsively.

Default Help with DS650 Bogging

This weekend I experienced this same problem. I started with a Dynojet 185 and rejetted up to a 195. It really didnt help the problem at all. I couldnt hold 3rd gear up comp hill at Dumont to save my life. Most embarassing was perhaps the stock DS that beat me. Im led to believe that it is a jetting issue. On the flats it ran ok and there was no hesitation or shuddering. It just seemed like it had no nuts when trying top pull third gear. I was running Geckos so if anything I should have been spinning and not bogging the motor from excessive traction. Any help appriciated.
