800 sportsman won't start
#1
I have a 2007 polaris sprotsman 800 that won't start. It only has 300 miles on it. Power works as I had to winch it on my trailer. The starter does not even click. Help me out if you can.
Thanks
Chris
I figured it out. It was my starter solenoid. The road salt ate it up. It was placed in a very bad spot the wheel well. The salt just destroyed it. Oh well $70 later
Thanks

I have no idea what your starter button looks like, but on my 95 sportsman, the starter button is on the left handlebar (thumb switch) and has to be wiggled and jiggled to get it to work. I have to push it in and then push it to one side, then the starter will engage. In other words, take a look at your starter button or whatever switch you use to start it (key or whatever). Probably not it, but worth a try before you pay somebody to look at it.

it starts w/ a key on the new models. no more buttons. when you turn the key on does it have power to the speedo display? when it turns on does the fuel pump cycle as mentioned? if it doesnt then, check to see if its getting power and if so most likely a bad pump issue. if it doesnt even turn over make sure the battery is fully charged and then start tracing power up though.
