Got a new 08 X2 800 LE Stealth black
#1
After the engine trouble I had with my ATP, I decided to make the plunge for a much nicer machine. Got it brand new with 0 miles for $8073 OTD. It's a sweet ride.
Is it true that Polaris did not offer the rear work lights in the 2008 X2? There are no bulbs in the rear work lights and no switch up front for it, but the wiring harness is there.

Yeah, that is right - I have the same machine. Check out www.quadovator.com - they can hook you up with the necessary switch and bulbs, or just go with the reverse lights kit.

all you need is 2 GE 912 or 921 peanut style bulbs (921's are brighter), and a switch
I used a toggle switch with a rubber boot/nut, to keep it water proof, I mounted my switch on the underside of the pod

Your parts at any Auto store should be like $8 total. Tyler is RIGHT, and I did use a Quadovator switch. I didn't order it for this project, I had it for the reverse override so I did this first and used the one from the Auto store just to keep my all black look going on for the body/POD. LOL..LOL Only thing you will cut is the POD casing square hole to add the toggle switch. When you look up under the POD you will notice the cut out marks, very helpful, I did my cuts with my LEATHERMAN. Then the switch had the 3-L-shaped prongs that fits the wire harness inside the POD.
The most simple add-on I have done and then the bulbs you just do a twist-insert follow up under the back body rear lights, its right there, not hidden.
Cheers,

Mine didn't come with the rear work lights either! Rediculous imo!
My dealer ordered me the Popo kit, carefully cut the headlightpod for the switch, and put the bulbs in the rear.
Should be standard equipt imo.
FYI, the new XP has NO rear worklights unless you order the Browing Edition!LOL! Another stupid move imo.
AND you can't add 'em afterwards because it's a totally different taillight! Just noticed that the other day looking at them on the dealer's showroom.

Tyler is right again. Yes the cut is more clean if you do it that
way. I agree, I did the same, I should of clarified that pt. Good
pt. Tyler! And yes I agree MTPOCKETS its one thing if they NEVER
used to be and then now have the option. It another thing to have
made previous models with this option standard and then take
it away with new models. For the price I think Polaris could of
adjusted the sale price by like 5-$10 most of use would not have
batted an eye then to go through all of this.
Its easy though, but just one thing ya gotta do if you want it.

Thanks so much guys for all the great info, I cant wait to get started on those mods!
I'm going to get the OEM work light switch from Polaris, P/N 4011074 and install it in the POD where the oem would put it. They have it listed for $17.19. I'm also going to get the back-up light and 3 light mod from Quadovator. I'm also looking to grab a pair of 921 bulbs at the store.
