700 Sportsman carb settings
#1
What is the air screw setting?I drilled out the cover to get to the screw. It was set at 1 turn.Seem like it needs more than that. What is the float setting too.

Try 2 turns out and check idling and running condition. Have found a few especially on the the 330 magnums/trail boss that were set at about 1/2 tun out, hard to start, cold natured, had to run choke longer to warm up. Fuel air screw main function is the idle circuit, but can cause lean bog on acceleration and above mentioned problems. Rule of thumb on float setting is with carb turned sideways with float arm just touching needle, float body should be parallel with carb body. Manual will give setting in mm/inches,but this works for me!

I will set it at 2.
THe problem with this is it starts good with choke when cold.Starts good warm without choke. But cuts out between 2300-3000 rpms.Carb was basicly clean.Pilot jet could have had a partcial piece of dirt but couldnt tell.Cleaned it and blew it dry.
Let you know tomorrow if the air adjustment helps.
