Default 300EX problems

my 1996 honda 300ex is given me trouble, when it would crank it would only run choked when you hit the topend it would bog when you would let out it would rapidly backfire, now it wont crank, it fires, but i cant oull the spark plug so i dont know what it looks like, the jet is not clogged, the rocker arms are gapped to the thousandth, it was timed to perfection, i dont know what to do i am fixing to stop puttin money in it and ebay it, any suggestions.

Sounds like it was running extremely lean if it would only run with the choke on.
You say you can't pull the plug, do you mean you can't get it out? If that is the case I would guess that it got very hot due to running lean and has burned up the topend.

If it doesn't run unless you have the choke on, it is running lean, either from an air leak in the carb boot or the wrong jetting.
Get the correct socket so you can remove the plug and check it.

Did u check the pilot jet too? Or just the main jet? I would take the carb apart and clean it all and I mean every passage. that should cure your illness

Pilot jet is right next to that up in the hole.. small flathead should be able to get it out.
