Hey guys I was having trouble with starting my sportsman .I took the cover of to get at the bendix and replace it there was a spring broken .I cleaned everything and took the pull cord assembly apart and fixed that so at least I can pull start it.Now the starter is not spinning it just clicks on the opposite side.I think it is the starter solenoid switch am I on the right track.There is also a new battery in it I was thinking I might try the battery out of the mower just curious as to if the new battery is strong enough to turn the starter.

 

w/ the key on just jump the solenoide and if the starter works you know its the solenoide thats bad instead of the starter.

 

Check the connections at the selenoid, I've seen the nuts behind the battery cables loose and coroded not making good connection.
