Default Horse power differance?

I am starting to lean towards a 420 because some of my friends say its a better bike. Can a person really tell if it lacks in HP? I will be doing some mud riding.

420...we talking Rancher here??? If you are refering to the standard SRA model, it rips pretty good! This engine is a little oversquare, so it likes to rev more than it likes to grunt. Don't be fooled, raw horsepower "numbers" don't mean much in the real world, as they don't take into account things like weight and tires, etc.

Can't comment from personal experience on mud performance however, seeing that I thankfully ride the arid west where mud is rare. But, if your intention is to run some monster mud tires, then all you will do is ruin the Rancher's sweet trail manners....
