mainly trails, some roads, and mud. not gonna be in mud pits every weekend. would like to order a set off ebay with a set of itp ss rims. Could someone please pont me in the right direction of what bolt pattern the rims should be, i just wanna buy the tires and rims and replace the stock ones, no modifications, dont want the tires to hang out no further than what stock is right now.. tires are gonna be 26x9x14 and 26x11x14. what exactly do i need to know about buying the rims, thanx for any help!

This site has good prices and they are helpful over the phone http://www.4atvtires.com/atvTi...php?id=7628&cat_id=2.
I think the TERRORCROSS are a better choice but you find dozens of differing opinions. ITP products are known to be high quality.

I know nothing about the terra cross other than that that seem to be a great tire. I am running bighorns on my stock wheels (spacers) , but depending on the after market wheel you choose they should fit if they have a deeper offset. I have the original bighorns. I bought them for their rugged"ability". They are not bullet proof but they sure seem like it compared to the stockers. I can feel a weight difference though it actually handles better with the heavier tires. Perform decent on light mud and grip great on the trails and rocks. thats my Opinion on the Bighorns.. and Im thinking they are a little cheaper than the Itp lineup depending on where u buy . I bought the 26" set for 14 " wheels for about 386$ shipped

RED800,
#1) Except for your user name, we don't know what you are wanting tires for.
Put something in your signature space on the MY PROFILE page, that would help.
#2) The Terracross tires get better reviews, but are more expensive than the Bighorn's. They both should perform much better than the Terriblethons (Terrathons) that came on my 850 XP! I plan on getting the Bighorn's when I have pretty much worn the stockers down and can justify replacing them!
Good luck!
Edit; Oop's I just saw the subject line on the Polaris page and realized you did say what machine it's for! Sorry!
Still a good idea to add a sig. on Profile page though!

RM is having a heck of good sale this month. It would amount to the an extra 200 off a set of Rims and tires, plus free shipping. The way to get the best deal is to place the orders seperate for the front pair and rear set to get the best deal.
They were showing terras with SS rims for 410.oo for the fronts. Your best deal would be to find another 90 bucks worth of extras, like lug nuts or other gear and stuff, just get the total to 500 and punch in the cupon code for a 100 bucks off. Then the rear wheels were 466.80 add another 34 bucks worth of stuff to that order to get it to 500.00 and you will get another 100.00 off that order. So in the end your net deal would be 800 bucks for the wheels and tires plus you get another 130 bucks worth of free stuff and free shipping. RM also has a frequent buyer program that is tiered. 1000 bucks get you another 50.00 back.
BH2s were about the same.
Its a shame we can't run 12"s on these machines, the same combos in 12" rims is a little over 500 bucks.

They will all hang out a little. The OEM rim offset is only 1" outside, where the aftermarket rims will all be at least 2". You will pick up about 2-3 inchs of track width, with pretty much any aftermarket combo availble.

With EPS no, the EPS acts like a dampner. A non EPS, based on the way I understand it, the dampning is based off the steering geometry and the offset changes will likely alter than, and increase steering effort and reduce the dampning effect. A more aggressive tire than OEMs will also likely have similar effects even on the OEM rims, then yet more so with aftermarket rims.

Concur..without EPS the wider the offset the more steering effort required and the more kick-back you will experience. With the ITP wheels it was noticable harder to steer but still alot lighter than say an 08 800 Sportaman..kick back is increased noticably as well. With 27" XTRs on stock wheels the steering effort actually feels lighter in most circumstances that the stock tires did..apparently do to the tread pattern. Tire diameter and wheel offset both will affect kick back, offset generally has a greater affect on the XP. In other words 27" tires on stock wheels will have a little more kick back that the stock 26"(25 1/4) tires but it is barely noticable..put the 27's on ITP wheels and the difference in kickback alot more noticable.
