Just get a performance ECU off one of the vendors in ebay for around $100 and be done with it. These eliminate the 5th gear ignition retard, add an improved timing curve, and also allow you to adjust fuel mixture for your particular mods. All these other "disconnect sensor and cut a wire" claims are a joke. I tried them all with no results, and still got the check engine light on. Got tired of hacking up my wiring harness. You get what you pay for!

yeah i got a busted *** quad ha. and by ecu do you mean a PC3 or a new cdi? the bike is bone stock. i might get a new wiring harness from this guy who is charging 50 bucks shipped. and i have another problem my solenoid make a buzzing noise whats up with that?

Yes, I'm talking about the CDI. If your wiring harness is that messed up, then I would just replace it at this point. Sounds like you may have a bad solenoid, but make sure your battery is fully charged and the connections are good first.

i myself would not leave that speed sensor unpluged for any ammount of time.after a little while u will get check engine lights and such. if u want to get rid of that get a dynatek programable ingition. the raptor 700s stock timing curve sucks. and i would HIGHLY recomend getting one from daniel at high desert dyno. he sells them with custom timing curves. that will make a big difference. but sence u are bone stock there r better mods for the cash.
