SP400 not charging
#1
2001 SP400
Already got a new battery.
Voltage reading drops off after quad is running. Eventually fans, lights, AWD die.
Quad has been through heck. Well maintained but a rough life. Can't blame it for needing this fix. Magneto system new to me. What is replacement cost? Where do i find replacement instructions? While i'm doing this...Are there upgrades? (could always use more juice)

Check that regulator/rectifier located at very front of machine has all 4 wires connected(sometimes one or more can pull loose) should have yellow,yel/brn,red(main power wire) brown. Could be cause of charging problem. Good luck

OPT,
Thanks a ton. U were 100% correct. One of the wires was corroded and broke loose. Ten min with a solder gun and some shrink tubing and I had the machine charging at 14.5 like its supposed to. U saved me tons of $$$. Can't begin to tell ya how much i appreciate the help.
