Polaris 700 - 800 twins starter drive bushings Polaris wants you to buy Stator cover and inside cover to replace $5.00 bushings. Found this out thought others should be sure and check on a lil grease on BOTH bushings! If any one has found the bushings sure would like the info / link!

 

do u have to take the starter out to do this,im not sure what u are talking about

 

Starter drive is on flywheel side (stator) U have to take flywheel off to grease the inside bushing on starter drive. Outside bushing is in stator/flywheel cover....

 

dont know if it carries over or not but when i bought a rebuild kit for my 2000 TB 250 starter, it came with new bushings for the bendix drive

 

Yea,same as PoPo 500 they show bushings for them BUT not for the twins....600.700.800... What a ripoff!!!!!!!!!!!!

UTU with our 2008 SP800 HO Twin. What years are effected? I have two cousins with 2007 Sp700 and 2006 Sp800.

If you take the flywheel/stator cover off you will see the bushing on inside cover.When you take flywheel off you can remove the starter drive off and see the inside bushing. PoPo twins have A..starter B.Starter drive(gear reduction).. Starter itself has splines on shaft which engages the starter drive.. Look in your service manual/parts manual too. Found this out on my sons 2004.5 700 sportsman ,from the parts manual all are the same. Parts manual shows all with stator cover & inside cover priced. BUT no bushings available seperate. BUSHINGS DO COME OUT ANY STARTER REPAIR / BEARING PLACE should be able to get/order you some. I did a LOT cheaper than 270.00 for the cover/plate plus shipping........ $10.00 or less......

Found some bushings at a starter repair bussiness.. Good to go now . 4.00 for the bushings. instead of 270.00 plus!

Yes,sealed. But inside bushing had not seen any lube inquite a while. Remember these are just bushings not bearings, hard to beleive Polaris just lists the stator/flywheel cover and inside cover priced but not the bushings seperate????
