I was riding and noticed that when I shift it shifts fine, but the shifter stays up or down when I shift accordingly. It started today when there was about a foot of snow on the ground and snow packed on the Big Bear. Is the trans just frozen or is something bent in the trans?.

 

check the shifter. there is a lock nut on there that might have been loose and it let the shifter slide down 2 or 3 notches.
