Default Who else has a 1987 polaris cyclone?

During the summer i saved up money and bought a 1987 polaris cyclone but i cant find much on the internet about them.
Who els has one?

Not too many made! have had only ONE in the shop in 21 years! They were clutched to engage about 5-6000 rpms! You usually did wheelies whether you wanted to or not!!

the porting was different on them than the 250 models after the cyclone. those 250 motors had more HP than the 250's now

yeh i was wndering bout the clutch my dad said he thought that it engaged too late
but i like it until it comes to hills haha
im wanting to go to hatfield mccoy with it sometimes

you might can change the spring in the drive clutch to bring the engagement rpms down a bit.

Keep it STOCK.That is one of the best Polaris ever made.You learn how to handle the high engagement.

didnt they have that clutched so it was almost instanlty into the power band for maxium power right from the start? remember hearing back then they were a kick butt ride.

They came set up from the factory like people mod the 400 and 250s now for power.They are piped better and need the clutching to match the pipe.Polaris CAN build fast machines but when clutched for that they can be a handful for novice riders.

oh I love the way the clutch engages it'll git-r-don
If i could get a new chain and sprocket so it wouldn't slip sometimes it would be awesome.
