Default alittle tuning question

well my computer is messed up and does not let me go past the first page of search topics so.....

im having alittle bog problem with my 250x. the engine is stock but i have a uni filter with the air box lid on and a hmf slip on with the stock head pipe till my new one comes in.

my problem is when i punch the gas it bogs and if i dont let off quik it will die. 35 pilot with 2 1/2 turns on the mix screw,125 main, stock clip position on the needle. if i roll on the gas it runs fine. plug looks good but could i still be running alittle lean?

sorry if this has been brought up before im just looking for alittle input.

It is hard to answer specific jetting issues on a post. Jetting is as much art as it is science, so you just have to make changes and go out and ride it and see what it does.

For a bog off the bottom, mess with the things that effect you at 0 to 1/4 throtle. I might fatten the pilot a bit or raise the needle a notch for starters if that doesn't work. I don't think this is a pumper carb, is it????

thanks for the reply....yes these are a pumper carb. i'm gonna go out today and try a 38 pilot jet and see how that goes, then try the needle clip a notch down.

welp i put a 38 pilot in and the bog kinda went away, then i put the clip one notch down on the needle...now when i rev it past 1/4 it blows black smoke,i put the clip back to stock and it still blows alittle black but not as bad...should i try the clip one leaner? i freakin hate tuning carbs!
