Rancher bros, Today I called Highlifter to reserve my "un-locker" system and they said I am the first Rancher owner on the list. They have had 45 calls on the 450 and a few from Rubi owners. They said the 450 kit will be first to production and after that it depends on demand!! So if any of you are interested in seeing this product anytime soon call Highlifter sales at 1-800-699-0947 and get your Rancher on the list.

Question: Would the Rancher locker be the same as the Rubicon? Don't they both use the same AP differential? If not, what's the difference?

IdahoRancher,

I am glad to see a fellow Rancher owner signing up for the unlocker. I didn't want to be a guinea pig!

Did highlifter give you a price or release date yet?

Snowshark, I am glad you want one also, the way I see it two guinea pigs are better than one. They said the price will be between $350 and $450 which i think is very reasonable. The 450 kit should be out between april and may. I asked if the Rancher kit would be mid-summer and they said "probably sooner". Lets hope so!!

P.J., The Two kits should be identical but the Rubi shaft will be longer.

The locker looks really nice, and I think it'd be cool to have an all time all 4 wheel drive on a rancher, I will be buying a rancher soon, but my question is, are they hard to put on, because me and my friend would most likly be doing the work and the only think we've really worked on was the carb on her mojave, so would it be wise for me to order one?

I have no clue how difficult the install would be, but I think I could do anything to my quad besides motor work. It should be as easy as unbolting the front drive shaft and bolting on the new piece, with a switch and one electrical connection.

Just wondering why a Rancher owner would want this set up for,is it for the 2wd option or the 4wd locker reason?

The kit changes nothing with the Honda suretrac front differential. The kits purpose is to "un-lock" the full time four wheel drive and allow you to use two wheel drive when you want it.
