88 trail boss 250 no spark, confused!

Hi
I have checked voltage from the battery through solenoid, the regulator, reverse speed limiter and to the CDI, all getting 12vdc. I checked continuity across the primary coil in the altenator and is good. I dont know what the ohm reading should be on the intermitent secondary coil from the alternator so that should be my first question. I also have no idea how to check the ignition coil, hence question #2. The lighting wireing has been removed from this bike all together, brake, head, indicaters etc. On the wireing diagam I have, the revese limiter shows a green line that ties back to the brown ignition switch that was removed when the light wireing was so a jumper has been installed to the ignition. The starter works, engine gets fuel and all else seems well. Oh yea, I checked the kill switch, normally open and is funtioning correctly. I allso checked the spark plug, ok.
SO:
1.Does anyone know what the seconday coil shoud read on an ohm meter?
2. How do you check the ignition coil?
3. Can a CDI be tested, if yes, how?
4. Any other thoughts?
