carb adjustment
#1
Hi,I have a 250cc Chinese Quad, all it says on it is 250 ATV,I am not sure what the brand name is but it does have Zongshen stamped on the engine cover,I am trying to adjust the carb,as the idle goes from high to very low,and is very inconsistent,I read the post about the adjustments, but my air mixture screw will not turn,I suspect it is preset at the factory,I also don't have the carb with the cap on top,all I really have access to is the idle screw, can someone please help, thanks.

Welcome to the forum samzr2!
Can you figure out what is keeping the fuel screw from turning? Some times its a plastic cap you can break off..Bottom line is these Chinese quads are set up very lean to pass emissions test's.. as a result they run poorly stock...I would look into getting some large jets for your carb..a larger pilot(slow) jet and main jet will work wonders.

no there is no plastic cap to break,it seems almost like its loctited in,it is embedded in the carb bowl and just won't budge,I guess I may have to remove the carb and do as you suggest, however I am finding it very difficult to find a place that services or sells parts for these quads, would you have any suggestions, thanks for responding.............Sam.
