Unhappy 1997 Polaris 425 Magnum Problems

New top end pistons valves no trying to start and gas is coming out of the exhaust what would be causing this? Any help would be great.

valves not adjusted right,cam lobe bad,out of time take your pick.

timing seesm to be on except the 2 dots on the sprocket are not lined up with the plated links on the timing chain would this matter?

Plated links DONT have to align with dots along as cam index pin as in your picture is at top dead center (appears to be) and BOTTOM sprocket mark lines up with case mark at the same time!

then what could cause gas leaking out of the exhaust? Valves are brand new with a new seat job?

Have you check the shear key on the flywheel?
