Hello,

I may have an opportunity to purchase a 1998 Honda Recon 250 for dirt cheap, but was told it has no spark. The guy said it needs a battery too, but would start with a pull starter.

Can anyone offer me any information as to what to look for on these machines?

Most bikes need a battery before you'll get a spark (coil feeds off the battery). Have you tried jumping it (make sure you get good connections, it may just be easier to get a new battery).
