Can't shift with riding boots on
#1
Ok, sounds like a stupid question but, how many of you guys are able to shift comfortably with riding boots on? I have an 02 Warrior and have no problems sitting comfortably on the quad and being able to up/down shift, stand up, etc. at any time with work boots or sneakers on. I recently got a set of riding boots and the toe part of the boot is so tall that I can't fit my boot under the shifter without leaning way forward and aiming my toe at the ground. It's an uncomfortable position to sit in and I'm not able to quickly pull my foot over the shifter to down shift or stand up.
Is there any way to adjust the shifter up to accomodate a taller boot under it?
Thanks,
Chris

If the shifter is stuck to the shaft you might have to work it off slowly. Don't use excessive force or you can break the shifter. But if you take the bolt out of the shifter, and take a large screw driver, you have spread the gap a bit by prying it a little. Then the shifter should easily work off.....
The boots will get better once they break it....and you can do the old racers trick by putting a couple cinder blocks on the boot toe for a few days. That will crush the toe box a little bit. But be careful you don't make the boot uncomfortable. You don't want to crush it too much.
