Default Taking is back a few years...need advice on buying an ATC

Hi all,

I'm really lookin' to pick up an old ATC to restore and tool around (and maybe keep as collectors item). Any old skewlers out there have any advice on what the best machines / model years are. Definatly would like to go 4 stroke and at least a 200cc. Also want to make sure that parts will be easly availble in the future (or best guess). I just Kinda miss riding them from back in the day is all. Any pointers whould be much appeciated!

Any of the old Honda 3 wheelers would be a good choice. Maybe a 200s or a Big red. Parts are pretty easy to find for the most part but being a honda I don't think you will need to look for too much stuff, they just don't break and go forever. If you do need anything e bay is a good source. Other than my 250r I just go driving see one sitting in someone's yard usually next to a tree with weeds grown up around it ask them if they want to sell it and they are usually glad to get rid of it. Bring it home clean the carb. or rebuild it, clean the gas tank, change the oil, put a new plug in it and 9 times out of 10 it will start within 3 pulls, or kicks or whatever. I've been restoring them for a while now and they are really fun to ride, and they get alot of looks too!

The only 2 models (not sport models) that have consistently held their value is the 250ES BigRed and the 250SX. The BigRed being the most sought after of the two. The 250 BigRed regularly goes for no less than 1500 in excellent condition no matter what part of the country you live in. Those needing minor TLC still go from 800 to 1000.

From the description of what you are looking to use it for and getting your money back later, I dont think you could go wrong with that one.
