Default Need advicve on a good duck hunting quad

Was looking at gettin a Grizzly 660 but friends of mine that hunt claim i should get a Honda or a shaft driven quad due to belt slipping issues when wet. Any advice ya'll can give is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think your a little confused.

The Griz that you were looking at is shaft driven, just like all modern 4x4 quads including Hondas.

About the belt drive. All modern quads with belt drives are very reliable. The belt cases are sealed and the intake is up very high. The only way you can get the belt wet is if you do something really dumb like swamp the quad in a river or lake. If you do this with a Honda you will hydro the engine and not just have a slipping belt.

Any will work for what you trying to do.

A well trained Lab would be good too.

I have a Honda Foreman 500 ES and love it. I looked at other IRS machines due to the added ground clearance. However, I found that when my buddy sat on his Rincon, the 12" of ground clearance drops down to about 10. I get 10 on my Foreman w/ wheel and tire kit.
I like the straight axle for towing and over-all rigidity. IRS is better for trail riding, not hauling, however either one will do the other ok.
Grizzly would be my second choice next to Honda. I like honda due to their reliability. Grizz's are not bad, just had better luck w/ Honda, they will run forever.
Good luck!

are grizz's still tippy or did yamaha fix that?

I remember reading that they leaned and pushed hard while corning and are top heavy and are scary on side hills.

Yamaha's are very tippy and un-stable so keep that in mind. I think you should go with a Honda Rancher or Foreman.
