Default 97 Explorer 400 4x4 belt problems or clutch

I just bought this bike it seemed alright when i test drove it just a little hesitation. After i got it home and rode awhile and got it warm it revs up but dont pull, if i let of and get on throttle easy it will pull but as soon as i try to get on it engine revs and tranny quits pulling. Put new polaris belt on and same thing after it gets warmed up. Can the clutch be adjusted or am i looking at about 3-400 for a new clutch. Also is there a front and rear clutch or just the front one.

i would check all vent tubes for any obstructions. sounds like maybe the clutches arent getting any air ventilation to cool off and possibly causing the clutches to glaze over. after you get the belt off take some emory cloth and lightly rub the sheaves of both clutches. you might also check the secondary clutch buttons.

sounds like the secondary clutch buttons are shot.
