Need help with sportsman 700

4-wheeler runs fine until it gets hot. It acts like it is running out of gas. You can choke it and it will crank but will not run right again until it cools off. Anyone had this problem before and if so I would appreciate any help.

First thing to check would be the vent lines on the fuel tank. As fuel goes out of the tank air must be able to get into the tank to replace the area where the fuel was. If the vent lines are clogged or kinked shut, eventually a vacuum builds up in the tank and the fuel can no longer flow out down to the carburetor. It's like sticking a straw down into a drink, capping your finger over the end of the straw, and you can lift the straw full of liquid up out of the drink without it flowing out until you remove your finger from the end of the straw. Same principle applies if the vents are blocked on your fuel tank. It just takes a while for the vacuum to get high enough in the tank to overcome the weight of the fuel in the tank. That's why it doesn't happen until the unit has run for awhile.Try opening the fuel cap right after it cuts off and see if it will restart and run normally without going through the cooldown as before. If it does you definately know you have a vent problem.

Is it carb or efi? If carb go to home depo and get a roll of silver heat tape, remove your fuel line and wrap it with the tape, mine did this when it got hot, was vapor locking I guess, hasn.t done it since I wrapped the line.
