I called about the price for a rear outer CV boot for my 2008 500 HO. Dealer said there are 2 part numbers listed for this based on build date. Prior to July 1st, 2007 and after July 2nd. (mine is Aug. 8 and $44 each)
What could they have changed? Just different clamps or is the whole axle different?

 

most likely differnt material in the boot as well as maybe differnt clamps as you suggested. but just a guess.
