Default What do I need to drain if I drown an EFI machine?

I have drowned many a carbed machine before, everytime I drain the carb, air box and CVT, and I'm off and running. What steps do you have to take with an EFI machine? Thanks.

My '06 sportsman 800 was completely submerged for over an hour under ice, then flipped upside down while trying to free it.

I drained the fuel, belt box, engine oil, front diff, and rear diff.

It took something stupid like 5 engine oil changes to get the fresh oil to come out looking like oil and not milkshake, at least 3 diff oil changes for the same effect (expensive!).

Fresh fuel, fresh oil all the way around and I was good.

Hope my mistake helps.

Erik

You can use kerosene/diesel fuel to fill the motor and diff and drain and repeat (NOT STARTING). Then using the cheaper oil and cleaning oil filter & reusing till oil is clear. THEN use your regular oil and new filter the last time. I have filled the motor, tranny, and rear diff this way get the water out a lot quicker/cheaper(:> Need to check air cleaner/throttle body for water if motor died especially take the plugs out B4 trying to start. Turning motor over with plugs out will make sure to get water out vs motor damage if their is water in combustion chamber..............

Same as drowning a carb ATV,change all your fluids, the only thing different is a throttle body has no carb float bowl to drain.

Yup, forgot to mention that! I pulled the plugs and spun it forever to get the water out.

Sorry to piggyback your thread but I was wondering if I can use some cheap 5W30 car motor oil when trying to clean out the water rather then expensive polaris oil. I've never drowned yet but I use the word 'YET' with anticipation.
Good thread by the way, I think alot of people like me will refer to this when the time happens, Any other suggestions and tricks will deffinatly be appreciated
