Do you have to shift?

Yes you have to shift, but overall a good lasting machine. You wont like it at oil change time though, takes about 5 and 1/2 quarts!! Main problems over the the years is the reverse actuator located on right side top of trans shorts out and you have to manually pull the lever for reverse or replace the actuator when you get tired of doing this. i have an 'o2 expedition and have had real good luck with it.bought it used in '04, besides the reverse actuator and some brakes. that's about it. this spring it was getting to where it wasn't wanting to rev,i adjusted the valves and i got my top-end rpm's back. pulled out a couple jeeps and a pathfinder with it. i wish they still made them, most likely they would have IRS,wouldn't that be awsome ,manual shift and independant rear.

I converted one to IRS back in 2001. Yes it was awesome.

I have had three of them and still have one. Have no intentions to sell it. Very fun bike to ride.

Smile good ride

I've had a 2000 Xpediion for about 3 years nows. Great to ride. Brakes aren't the best, which is another reason to like thegears, I can gear it down to help slow down. Rear axle breakage can be a problem, especially with over-sized tires. Only been stuck a couple of times and my tires are shot, went through areas where an Artic Cat with new mud tires was getting stuck. Can't go wrong with it.

check out my garage. I have 6 or 8 pics in there of mine before it was stolen. I had it 6 years and rode it hard. I really miss that thing. The straight rear axel is the only downfall i could see in it, i loved the 5 speed.
