Default 2012 Sportsman throttle issues

Hi everybody im new to this but i got a 2012 polaris sportsman 500 HO and it has a lot of play in the throttle. It wont run or start unless im pressing the throttle. The throttle lever also has play up and down, I dont know if there is a screw that fell out or what happened. I tried to tighten the throttle cable adjustment and it didnt change anything. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Any warranty left? Send me a PM with your email address, and I will send you a service manual.

Just pop the throttle housing cap off with a screw driver and see if the thumb lever screw is still in place and the etc switch and cable are working, the cable moving along with the etc contact points opening up. Adjust the thumb lever slack to 1/8" max. Any looser and the etc contact points will touch not allowing the atv to start unless the throttle is moved. OPT

As long as it wasn't wrecked and still under warranty, shouldn't be a problem on getting it replaced. OPT
