Default X2 Ground Clearance........

Howdy all......I pressure washed my 2007 X2 (1575 miles) today and noticed the front end looked lower in ground clearance than the rear end.....way lower. The ground clearance in rear is 11.25 inches and the front end is 9.25 inches. I have an ATV-Guru front bumper, Polaris 2500 winch and mount kit.....no other weight on the front at all. Is this the front end sag I hear about because of the springs weakening?....This is a full 2 inch difference!!!....what's the fix for this?....Heavy Duty springs or new stockers? Thanx and Happy New Year to everyone.....NoJoke

yep! welcome to the front spring sag form the weak springs and the extra weight you mentioned up front. either new HD springs or spring spacers is the fix. imo

Hey, NoJoke. I didn't like the sag with my large body and the winch weighing the front down. I got the Polaris Heavy Duty Springs and it solved it big time. I think the stock springs are on the soft side for a nice ride. The HDs are pretty stiff but I don't find the ride bad at all. I think it actually helps with the steering geometry and it's a much nicer ride with great clearance under the front. I even put the rears up a notch stiffer after installing to even it out a bit. The front is still a little higher but the ride is much better now. It doesn't bottom out going downhill like it did before. A lot of other guys swear by another make but I can't remember it off the top of my head.

Thanx for the replies.......I am going to replace the front springs.........now, If I get adjustable spacers.....is it best to go with the stock springs (regular duty) or HD springs from Polaris. I like to use OEM parts more so than not. When camping out, the front carries about 80 lbs of gear and the rear up to 100 lbs. The specs for the X2 says it weighs 798 lbs dry. I just weighed mine today and with the fuel and fluids topped off, cargo boxes and bags on but no gear inside, with front/rear bumpers, etc., it is 960 lbs. Check out the link for these adjustable spacers.....any good?.........NoJoke

I have a set of HD springs for sale. I ended up using 800 springs and TM2s.
TM2s middle setting normal, highest setting when plows on.

I don't think I'd bother with the TM2s with the HD springs from Polaris. You wouldn't need it to be any stiffer than they will make it. I just got back from a snow ride and the front end felt great. I think it is the first deep snow ride where I had the HDs on. I know I wouldn't want it any stiffer. Seems to be just right the way it is now. I've had the HDs a little over a year if I remember right.

I have a X2 also, and noticed the sag just like you, went to the dealer and measured a new one and it was the same height as mine. I put springs off a 800 model on, they arent as stiff as the HD springs but it raised it up about 1.5 in or so. I didnt seem to loose any ride quality either.

pretty much all the sportmans spring are weak and after awhile they tend to sag as the 800 springs you will do the same thing in time. imo

IMO, I'd pass on the HD springs, I like my soft "popo" ride, so I went the spring space route, also I don't think you'd need to replace the springs, but if you carry that much weight regularly, you may need to
