i am having trouble with this carb idleling like crazy when i touch the throttle. if i turn the idle set down the engine will start knocking. also the choke cable is stuck, you can't pull it. could that be the problem?

The cable maybe stuck because the carb is all gunked up inside, did the bike sit for a while , if so the carb needs a good cleaning and drain the gas out of tank and refill with fresh.

Try turning the rubber grommet counter clockwise 1 turn. Its between the instrument panel & choke ****.

Default hawkeye choke cable

cable was taken off with the carb and is under construction. i just figure out how to get this cable loose. the wall that the choke moves gets stuck and closes really slow.

Default still messed up

i took the carb completely out and the choke cable is still stuck after I cleaned it. when we spray carb cleaner around it and its running it idles like crazy. it has a vacuum leak in a couple of places. if I buy a new one one will this fix it?
