artic cat 400 no power when warms up

Default artic cat 400 no power when warms up

i have a artic cat 400 4 wheeler that when it heats up starts to break down let it cool down it will go for a little bit and then acts up again, will idle fine but spuders when you give it gas.

Welcome to the forum.

I would start withthe esy stuff first. Such as making sure the vent tubes are not plugged, kinked or obstructed creating a vapor lock. Then I would make sure it is getting enough fuel (clean the carb) and make sure the choke is not stuck in the "ON" position.

Plug color will tell you if the air/fuel mix is good. You want it to a light tan color. White = too hot or lean condition, black = too rich or too much fuel.

If all is good and it still persists after that then I would begin looking at an electrical issue. Ignition coil or CDI or a short where wires separate when they heat up.

i have one of these that im servicing right now thats doing the same thing. i was hoping it was the valves (easy fix) but it turns out the cdi is faulty. i check your valve clearance and hope for the best
