Default 95 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4

Greetings and hello's...Just bought a 95 sportsman and took it out for a bit..noticed if I have it in Hi and try the awd button it does not light up..but if I push the shifter forward a bit it will...now does that mean its not working in high unless I push the shifter a bit to make the light come on?? Low is 5 by 5 with it no probloms...

Posting a fix for this would be great (besides using a bugie cord on the sifter) keeping in mind I can fix my Dodge 3500 but never messed with an ATV

Switch in the shifter is the problem (wearing out) replacements are improved. Hi range is the most common complaint on awd light because most people use it more than low. OPT

You can go to the polaris website and get the parts manual for your ride.
