Default NGK irridiums for the 850

Highoctane did all the research on these plugs and I have found the Mercedes code that may help someone else.
The plug is the NGK Laser Irridium ILZKAR7A10. The Mercedes Number is A 004 159 39 03
I hope this helps
Dave

I hear they burn hotter and claims of better mpg on the Sportsman 800. Friend from work swears by them and that is all he runs. what the cost on them?

Thanks,

R'

OH ya they are a heat range 7. I have heard that they are going to a heat range 8 on the Champion plugs for guys having plug fouling issues. I never had a problem with my Champion plugs

Nope....I haven't had a problem with mine either. No backfires, or plug fouling with my '09 850. Maybe I'll move to the NGKs next year.

Interesting! Now that is the part# I would be interested in.

I have had my 850 XP backfire a couple times at high altitude...around 8700-9000 ft. Happens when letting off the throttle quickly...after a nice long steady trail ride.

Visiting the dealer this Friday...and have them check it out.

Check your throttle cable adjustment. Mine did the same thing but at any altitude from sea level up and it was the throttle cable adjustment. It's in your owners manual.
Take good care

The NGK number is fairly hard to find. The plug is for the Mercedes 63 AMG series Mercedes which is a new development. It is mainly a European use plug. The part number is so you can order them through a local Mercedes dealer rather than spending a lot of time trying to find them elsewhere. They are supposed to last 100,000 kms.
Take good care
