04 sportsman 600

Default 04 sportsman 600

i have a charging problem,everytime i run for a half hour battery goes down,cant use lights drains battery,any help would be appreciated ..thank you

Most likely your stator/pick-up. Open up your recoil and take a look. Start the machine up first and use a multi-meter as see if your voltage is above 13vdc. If it is, shut the machine off and take another reading. If your battery is below 12vdc, I'd replace it as well. It may be bad. If your at 13vdc while running, your stator/pick-up are most likely ok.

thank you ive replaced the battery,same thing,is there somewhere i could find schematics on charging system?thank you

try checking the recifier as wel to see if it is all corrode or maybe unplugged. it controls the amount of voltage you get. if dirty or corroded, clean and then put some dielectric grease on the connections. it should be located up under the front by the top of the rad. or near the pod under the plastic panel. imo
